Environmental Monitoring
Aliança Energia develops several environmental programs with the objective of minimizing the impacts caused to the environment by the implementation and operation of its projects. Among the programs we can mention:
Ichthyofauna Monitoring Program (fish fauna)
Carried out in all Aliança Energia plants, the activity accompanies the structuring of the fish community in the area of influence of the projects, directing the conservation and management actions of the ichthyofauna.
Monitoring and Operation of Fish Transposition System (STP)
The Fish Transposition System consists of a structure (channel) that allows the movement of fish from the downstream stretch of the dam to the reservoir. This system usually works during the spawning period, when the fish go up the river for reproduction. The transposition through the STP is carried out at the Aimorés, Funil and Igarapava plants.
Monitoring of Winged Fauna
It is intended for the monitoring of birds and bats in the area of influence of the Santo Inácio Wind Complex to verify any changes in ecological aspects of the local bird community.
Fauna Rescue Program
The objective of this program is to reduce the impacts on fauna during the construction phase, especially when vegetation suppression is carried out. In this way, this program aims to promote the management and care of animals.
Fauna Monitoring Program
The program aims to collect data on the impacts on wildlife – mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians – during the implementation phase of the project.
Noise Monitoring
Carried out at the Santo Inácio Wind Complex with the objective of monitoring the noise level of the wind turbines and the acoustic comfort of the community living in the vicinity of the wind turbines.
Water Quality Monitoring Program
Carried out at various points in the reservoir, upstream and downstream of all Aliança Energia plants with the objective of evaluating the physical-chemical and bacteriological aspects of the water in the reservoirs.
Reforestation Program
It consists of recovering the vegetation cover of the degraded areas as a result of the works for the implementation of the projects and the permanent preservation areas around the reservoirs.
Reforestation is carried out through techniques of integral planting, densification, enrichment, formation of islands or nuclei of vegetation, agroforestry systems (AFS) and the conduction of natural regeneration with isolation and monitoring, as provided for in the Technical Projects for the Reconstitution of Flora (PTRF).
Program for Monitoring and Recovery of Erosive Processes
The monitoring of erosive processes aims to periodically verify the dynamics of stabilization processes and/or evolution of erosive foci on the banks of the reservoirs, as well as to diagnose the need to adopt specific physical interventions for control and stabilization.
