Environmental Policy

Objective

Establish guidelines for Aliança Energia’s performance regarding environmental issues, aiming to enhance environmental performance and reinforce the company’s commitment to sustainable development.

Application

This Policy applies to Aliança and its wholly owned subsidiaries and is reproduced, whenever possible, in its affiliates and/or joint ventures, in compliance with their bylaws and applicable legislation.

Commitments to the environment

Aliança seeks the sustainability of its business, acting in the responsible management of the environmental aspects inherent to its activities, assuming the following commitments:

• Comply with current legislation, obligations established by licensing and regulatory bodies, as well as other legal requirements, such as: internal rules related to anti-corruption, agreements with community groups, organizational requirements, obligations arising from contractual agreements and relevant organizational rules;
  
  
• Identify, manage and mitigate environmental impacts and risks related to activities, adopting appropriate control and monitoring measures, aiming at the prevention of pollution;
  
  
• Act responsibly, ethically and transparently with stakeholders to achieve a greater understanding of their needs and expectations;
  
  
• To use natural resources efficiently and sustainably, encouraging the adoption of measures aimed at the protection and preservation of biodiversity, the conscious consumption of water and energy, and the reduction of waste generation;
  
  
• Promote the awareness and involvement of its employees and third parties so that they act responsibly and environmentally correct in the development of their activities;
  
  
• To seek excellence and continuous improvement through the improvement of processes and the use of new technologies.
