In a relaxed atmosphere, the message about the importance of preserving the environment is disseminated through film screenings, puppet theater presentations, educational games, ecological workshops, storytelling and different dynamics. The program also goes to public schools and includes actions that add to the content worked on by these institutions.
Environmental Education Center

Short Animation
To promote a discussion about environmental preservation combined with the art of cinema. This is the main objective of the Short-Animation project, carried out with students from public schools in Aimorés and Lavras/MG. The result of this project, implemented since 2015, was the production of two videos plus Traveling Wind, about 5 minutes long, produced by children and adolescents, with the technical support of an institute.
Participants are encouraged to choose a theme, develop the script, scenarios and characters using various materials, under the guidance of specialized teachers and monitors. The release of the film takes place at the school and in the communities involved with cinema sessions and also outdoor sessions.
By participating in this project, students, teachers and the community collectively participate in a process of learning, social development, cultural inclusion and appreciation of skills. The short films produced in the workshops are entered in national and international awards and festivals with the aim of reaching more and more viewers.

The film presents as its theme the reflection that the preservation of the environment begins with small attitudes. With its crystal clear waters, the Rio Grande brings secrets, beauties and also benefits. It is necessary to keep it clean, without garbage, take care of the springs and preserve the riparian forests so that all this wealth is maintained for many years. It was produced by 30 students from the Sebastião Vicente Ferreira Municipal School and the Álvaro Botelho Municipal School (Lavras/MG). The actions to launch the video had an audience of more than a thousand people. And the film is competing for awards and festivals.
“What we saw here was not just a film, it was the materialization of education as a tool for the transformation of children and young people.”
Dieikson Carvalho, Educational Superintendent of the Department of Education of Lavras
Alessandro Ribeiro, resident of the Funil Community and member of the Fishermen’s Cooperative – Cooperfunil
