During the implementation of the Aimorés Hydroelectric Power Plant, an operational limitation and silting were identified in three culverts of the Vitória-Minas Railroad (EFVM), in the municipality of Resplendor/MG, which impacted the operation of the railroad. At the time, Vale and the Aimorés Hydroelectric Consortium (CHA) defined the treatment of this diversion.

The Executive Project was prepared for the installation of three cellular culverts in concrete under the railroad, including the structures of the emboque and desemboque wings and the amortization basins necessary to receive the waters of the drainage basin. The field execution began in April 2025, with a total cost of R$ 31.6 million.

At the end of November, the works to implement the three culverts were completed, ensuring the drainage of rainwater. After completion, the structures went into operation, with operation verified during rainfall events greater than 50 mm/day, recorded in the days following the delivery of the work. The result achieved is due to the good performance and involvement of the teams of Aliança, Vale and the companies contracted to perform the services.

Throughout the year, Aliança managed the implementation of the three drainage devices at the EFVM, which included the installation of staves under the rails, with the stoppage of one of the lines and the maintenance of the other in operation, meeting the technical, safety and schedule requirements.

As highlighted by Aliança’s Civil Engineer, Ana Paula Marcelino: “in 2025 I had the opportunity to manage the implementation of three drainage devices at the EFVM, known as ‘Obra dos Bueiros’. One of the most critical moments was the installation of the staves under the rails, with the stoppage of one line while the other remained in operation, requiring technical attention, safety and compliance with the schedule. The work reinforced, in practice, two values of Aliança Energia: #AVidaEmPrimeiroLugar and #CooperaçãoParaAvançar. The joint work between internal teams, consultants and partner companies was essential for the project to become a success case.”

The values Cooperation to Move Forward and Life First, consolidated in the Aliança’s culture, inspired the partners to act collaboratively and safely, allowing the activities to be completed successfully.
