On November 17 and 18, Aliança closely followed two special nights of art, culture and emotion experienced by the residents of Lagoa Nova (RN), a municipality neighboring the Acauã Wind Complex, during the launch of the short film “Nosso Tempero”. The work is the result of an action sponsored by Aliança Energia, through the Federal Law of Incentive to Culture, in partnership with the Marlin Azul Institute.
The sessions were held on 11/17, at the Catholic Church Square of the Immaculate Conception, in the Manoel Domingos District, and on 11/18, at the Geraldo Dantas Events Square, in the center of Lagoa Nova. The screenings were free and had the structure of a cinema truck, equipped with an 8×6 meter screen, digital projector, sound system and 200 seats for the public.
The short film was developed by students from the João Luiz Victor Municipal School, in Sítio de Dentro, and was born from the workshops of the Animation Project/Animazul Culture Point. The story portrays a small village dominated by cashew, a fruit that is the symbol of the region. In the narrative, a girl born and raised there reveals that she hates cashews, a starting point that provokes humor, reflection and recognition about the local culture.
During the workshops, the 4th and 5th grade classes were introduced to the universe of pre-cinema, allowing students to experiment with optical toys such as thaumatrope, flipbook and zootrope, which help to understand the illusion of movement in cinema. Animation techniques such as 2D drawing, cutting, stop motion in clay and pixilation were also worked on.
Then, the children participated in conversation circles so that the children could build the plot of the film. They shared experiences about the daily life of the community, their memories, games and the relationship of families with the territory. Cashews, present in cooking, economics, stories and childhood adventures, became the central element of the narrative.
The Animation Project seeks to stimulate imagination, communication and expression through art, culture and film technology, also promoting students’ contact with stories, traditions, reading, research, music and popular cultures.

Student Nayara Nicolly reported her experience: “I thought this film was a very great opportunity for the people of the municipality. I loved making this movie and I really hope to be able to do another one next year. Thank you very much to Aliança and Marlin Azul.”
Professor Lázaro, responsible for the class, also highlighted the impact of the project: “the short film was of great value, learning and contribution to the education of our children. They participated effectively in the entire process, plot creation, character development, acting and recordings, always with great enthusiasm. It was one of the best projects ever developed at the school. On behalf of the class, I thank the Marlin Azul Institute and Aliança Energia for the partnership, which strengthened the bonds, knowledge and learning of our students.”
By supporting initiatives like this, the Aliança Energia contributes to the promotion of quality education (SDG 4), to the reduction of inequalities in access to culture (SDG 10), to the strengthening of local communities and their cultural identity (SDG 11) and to the construction of partnerships that generate real impact (SDG 17).

This experience left a legacy of learning, creativity and belonging for the children and for the entire community of Lagoa Nova. Aliança Energia continues to support actions that unite art, culture, human development and social transformation.
