The Ecogranja project, of the Community Association for Sustainable Development of Gravier, took an important step in its growth and visibility trajectory by participating, for the first time, in the Quinta Cultural de Icapuí fair. The initiative had the essential support of Aliança Energia, a partner in the project, through a cooperation agreement that enables investments in income generation and sustainable development actions with local communities. In addition, the project also had the support of the City of Icapuí.

For this participation, Aliança Energia expanded its role as a partner of the initiative by supporting the creation of Ecogranja’s visual identity, including logo, banner, t-shirts and promotional materials. The action provided greater visibility to the project and helped the group to present itself in a professional and attractive way during the event, held at the Icapuí Public Market, on October 30.

The fair, which is part of the monthly program of Quinta Cultural, brings together small producers and local entrepreneurs for the exhibition and sale of handicraft, food and cultural products. At the Ecogranja booth, the highlight was the sale of 200 free-range eggs, all packaged and labeled with the project’s new logo, demonstrating the care and organization of the members.

“The participation of the Ecogranja Project in the small entrepreneurs fair at the Icapuí Public Market was of great value to us. This moment represents the result of a work that we have been building every day with the community of Gravier. Today, we have seen this effort culminate in success, with good sales, new customers and a lot of recognition”, highlighted Maria Rodrigues, Community Relationship Analyst at Aliança Energia.

According to Maria, the positive result is the result of the union, planning and continuous partnership between Aliança Energia and local communities, pillars that have ensured the advancement of sustainable initiatives and territorial economic development.

The coordinator of the Entrepreneur’s House of Icapuí, Rosineide Rebouças, stressed the relevance of the project’s presence at the fair and the importance of Aliança Energia’s support for the growth of the local economy.

Receiving these women, representatives of a productive inclusion project, is a joy. Ecogranja is an example of a sustainable initiative with great potential. We thank Aliança Energia for believing and investing in these potentialities, transforming realities and generating opportunities for the families of Icapuí”, he said.

The members of the project also celebrated the experience. For Helena de Oliveira, one of the producers involved, the fair was a milestone for the group.

“It was very important for us, who had never participated. We sold everything and received many compliments. We hope to participate other times and continue to grow. We can only thank the Aliança Energia for its support,” he said.

Colleague Raimunda do Nascimento Pereira shared the same feeling:

“I am very happy and I am very grateful to the Aliança Energia for the opportunity to show our work.”

With the success of the participation, the group is already preparing for a new challenge: to be present at the Fishing Week Fair, which will take place on November 29, also in Icapuí, an event that also has the support of Aliança Energia.

More than a fair, the experience represented learning, appreciation and expansion of opportunities for the women of Gravier. Ecogranja demonstrates that, with technical support, organization and the right incentive, it is possible to generate a positive social and economic impact in communities.

The initiative is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN 2030 Agenda, especially SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by promoting productive inclusion, female autonomy and sustainable local development.
