On November 10, Aliança Energia will carry out a periodic sound test with the activation of the sirens of the Emergency Action Plan (PAE) of the Risoleta Neves Hydroelectric Power Plant, in the cities of Rio Doce and Santa Cruz do Escalvado (MG).
The tests will take place from 10 am with the activation of the sirens simultaneously. Each ringtone will last a few seconds, following the same pattern as previous tests, with voice messages and musical sound.
The sound test aims to verify the full operation and reliability of the drive system, and is essential to ensure that, in an emergency situation, the sirens can be activated quickly and efficiently, ensuring the safety of the communities located downstream of the dam. The periodic performance of these tests reinforces the Aliança Energia’s commitment to prevention, transparency and the safety of people and the environment.
It is important to highlight that the Risoleta Neves HPP dam remains stable and safe, being classified as low risk and its structures fully meet safety factors, according to reports from the National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL). The working groups on this topic in each location – composed of representatives of the Civil Defense agencies, the Fire Department, the Military Police and the Aliança Energia team – continue with the monitoring routine and will monitor and supervise these preventive actions.
Since the resumption of activities at the Risoleta Neves HPP in 2023, Aliança has maintained a continuous schedule of monitoring, inspection, and preventive testing at the plant, in line with the operational safety standards of the electricity sector and current legislation.
