A simple and hopeful request became a reality: on January 5th, Jainny Rodrigues Piske, only 12 years old, visited the Aimorés Hydroelectric Power Plant (UHE Aimorés). The dream was born from a letter written to Santa Claus, in which the girl asked not for toys or clothes, but for the chance to visit the plant.
The history of this desire also became a moment of knowledge and reflection for Aliança Energia, which saw in the initiative an opportunity to bring the company even closer to the community and show, in practice, how energy generation can boost lives.
Solidarity Christmas and Jainny’s letter

This request began on December 9, 2025, during the Annual Meeting of Aliança Energia, when the Solidarity Christmas, of Aliança Voluntário, was held. A tree was set up with more than 300 letters written by children, 177 from the Santo Antônio do Rio Doce district and 132 from the Quilombola Community of Macambira, rural area of Lagoa Nova/RN. Company employees chose their letters and, voluntarily, contributed via pix to help buy the gifts. Among them was Jainny’s, which drew attention for its originality and sensitivity.
On December 23, 2025, when all the children went to the Botanical Park to pick up their gifts, Jainny received a printed card from the Social Responsibility and Communication team, formalizing the fulfillment of her special request.

The visit to the plant
“It was a great satisfaction to be received at the plant and to see the affection with my daughter. She always asked her father what it was like inside, but he couldn’t explain. So the idea of asking for this tour came up and she was presented with this wonderful opportunity. We feel proud and thank everyone involved immensely,” said Priscila Rodrigues de Souza Piske, Jainny’s mother.

On the day of the visit, Jainny and her mother were received with affection and guided by Adilison Antonio de Paiva Melo, coordinator of the Aimorés HPP, accompanied by Tatiana Menezes Teixeira Siqueira, Community Relations Analyst, and Letícia Vicente Nogueira, Communication Analyst. The route was carefully planned to ensure safety and provide a playful and educational experience.
After the reception, they visited the Discharge Yard, went down to the generating unit and went to the control building, where the operators monitor and manage the energy generation processes.

“I wrote my letter asking, as a Christmas present, for a visit to the Aimorés Plant, because I was always curious to know what it was like inside. I always imagined that it was all very big, but it exceeded my expectations. What surprised me the most during the visit was to learn about so much technology in a hydroelectric plant, and I was very happy to get to know the immense structures down there in the plant, where I learned how the process of generating energy from water works”, said Jainny Rodrigues Piske, student.
Afterwards, they watched an explanatory video about areas that they could not visit due to security procedures, such as the spillway and sectors of the Power House. At that moment, Jainny had a special surprise: a video call with Diego Donega Sanches, Project Development Coordinator at Aliança, who had chosen his letter from the solidarity tree.

“I found Jainny’s letter very sincere, genuine and direct, where she introduced herself and told about her father, who was once a collaborator at the plant. Like every desire of a child, it was simple. I thought this curiosity of hers was very cool. I thought it was very beautiful that she wanted to visit the place where her father once worked. I was very happy to know that she visited the plant,” said Diego.
The tour ended at the Water Intake, an auxiliary reservoir of the Aimorés HPP, ending two hours of visit that provided a lot of learning.

The initiative reinforces Aliança Energia’s purpose of promoting “energies that drive lives”, highlighting its commitment to socio-environmental responsibility. By fulfilling Jainny’s request, the company not only made a dream come true, but also strengthened ties with the community and demonstrated, in practice, its values.
“Meeting Jainny’s request was important because it is a way to bring the plant closer to the community. We primarily serve the municipalities of Baixo Guandu, Aimorés, Resplendor and Itueta. So, when we receive a request to visit the plant, in addition to bringing the community closer to the company, we also awaken in young people, like Jainny, the interest in topics that are part of our work environment”, said Tatiana.

“For us it was a very special visit. We found it super pleasant to talk to someone who wanted to see our operations, because we often have the purpose of communicating, but when this communication is demanded, it is a different connection. The person was interested in what we do here. So, it was a super cool exchange, an opportunity to show how things are here, to show what the person wanted to understand, see and connect with our work. It was a unique opportunity,” said Adilison.

The action is directly aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 (Quality Education), by providing learning and educational experiences; SDG 10 (Reduction of Inequalities), by ensuring that children from diverse communities have their dreams fulfilled; and SDG 17 (Partnerships and Means of Implementation), by uniting employees, community and company in favor of a common goal.
