Located in the north of Minas Gerais, the Sol do Cerrado Photovoltaic Power Plant is one of the largest solar parks in Latin America. With a total installed capacity of 766 MWp, it can generate enough clean and renewable energy for the residential consumption of a city with 800 thousand inhabitants, being able to avoid the emission of 134 thousand tons of CO2 into the atmosphere per year (equivalent to the emission of 100 thousand compact cars). The Center has 1.5 million solar modules, a total area of 5.5 thousand hectares and 1,280ha of installed area.

During the construction of the Sol Cerrado Power Plant, about 3 thousand jobs were generated, almost 50% of which were local labor and 16% were women, with zero accidents (N1 and N2) since its implementation.

The project covers a 15-kilometer long transmission line, with a voltage of 230 thousand volts, interconnecting the Coletora Sol do Cerrado and Jaíba substations, from where the energy is flowed to the National Interconnected System.
