Aliança Energia’s project brings together 109.2 MW of installed capacity, clean energy generation and operations in four municipalities in the state of Rio Grande do Norte

Aliança Energia’s Acauã Wind Complex completes two years of operation this Thursday, May 21, consolidating itself as a strategic asset of the company in the expansion of renewable sources and in the economic dynamics of municipalities in the interior of Rio Grande do Norte.

Installed between Santana do Matos, Lagoa Nova, São Vicente and Tenente Laurentino Cruz, the project received an investment of more than R$ 700 million and has 26 wind turbines and an installed capacity of 109.2 MW. The energy produced represents an estimate sufficient to supply about 580 thousand homes, considering the average consumption pattern of the Northeast region, and is drained to the National Interconnected System through a 17.7-kilometer transmission line.

In addition to expanding the supply of clean energy in the country, the project became part of the local economy. During the implementation phase, more than 800 jobs were generated, with repercussions on the supply chain, the hiring of regional labor and the movement of services in the surrounding municipalities.

The presence of the complex also reinforces the role of renewable infrastructure as a vector of development outside the large centers. Throughout the first two years of operation, Aliança Energia developed community relations initiatives aimed at environmental education, sustainability, professional qualification, entrepreneurship and support for cultural, sports and community projects.

Among the actions carried out are cordel and essay contests with students, implementation of school and community gardens, training workshops and initiatives aimed at strengthening local communities. The strategy seeks to associate the operation of the asset with the generation of shared value in the territories where the company is present.

“The Acauã Wind Complex reinforces Aliança Energia’s strategy of expanding its operations in renewable generation with assets of high operational relevance. After two years of operation, the project has been showing consistent results and consolidating its importance for the company’s portfolio and for the expansion of wind energy in Brazil”, highlights Antônio França, manager of Wind and Solar Plants at Aliança Energia

Aliança Energia operates in the generation and commercialization of electricity from renewable sources and has been expanding its presence in projects aligned with the energy transition. At the Acauã Wind Complex, the company combines renewable generation, investment in infrastructure and local development, with community relationships in an important region for the advancement of wind energy in the country.
