On August 18, the Acauã Wind Complex received 20 technicians in Electromechanics recently graduated from the National Service for Industrial Learning (SENAI). Residents of Lagoa Nova, a municipality that is part of the area of operation of Aliança Energia (RN), they participated in a program that brought the knowledge acquired in the classroom closer to the routine of a wind energy generation project.
The class also drew attention for the female presence: there were 11 women and 9 men. This composition shows the advance of women’s participation in areas that, historically, had male predominance. In segments such as industry, electrotechnics and energy, finding a group made up mostly of women shows that the female presence in these spaces has been gaining strength.
The program began with a presentation conducted by the O&M supervisor and electrical engineer of Aliança Energia, Antônio Leydson Xavier, who explained the operation of a wind farm, from the performance of wind turbines in capturing the force of the winds to the stages involved in the transmission and distribution of the energy generated.
In addition to the technical processes, the conversation brought up situations experienced in the day-to-day operation, including projects and materials that did not produce the expected results. The idea was to show that mistakes, adjustments, and learning are also part of building the professional experience.
The exchange gained another perspective with the participation of the O&M provider and technician in Electrotechnics, Lidmar Fernandes de Oliveira. He told how different experiences throughout his career contributed to his current performance in the sector.
“My trajectory began in the construction and maintenance sectors of transmission lines. Later, I had the opportunity to work with the operation and maintenance of substations, medium voltage networks, transmission lines and wind turbines. Sharing this path with those who are starting their careers is a way of showing that qualification, dedication and willingness to learn are fundamental to conquer new opportunities”, reported Lidmar.
During the program, information was shared with the class about the social projects supported by Aliança Energia in the region. The presentation allowed participants to learn about initiatives aimed at the development of local communities, with actions in the areas of education, income generation, social development and strengthening of the territory. In addition, it was presented how the company seeks to generate value for the territory through these initiatives, which go beyond energy production.
After the presentations, it was time to get to know the structures of the enterprise. The group toured the administrative office, the substation, the powerhouse and one of the wind turbines, observing equipment and processes that are part of the operation of the complex.
The experience was also marked by the perception of those who are taking the first steps in their careers. Recently graduated from SENAI, the participants highlighted the opportunity to get to know an energy generation operation up close and relate the knowledge acquired during the training with professional practice.
For Isolda Clara, one of the visitors, the experience broadened her view of career possibilities in the sector. “As a recent graduate, experiencing this moment represents much more than acquiring technical knowledge. It is also an opportunity to see new possibilities for my career. I take with me new learning, inspiration and motivation to continue seeking professional growth”.
Jordiel Rodrigues, also a recent graduate in Electromechanics from SENAI, stressed the importance of direct contact with equipment, processes and professionals. “It was a unique opportunity. I was able to get to know the dynamics and operation of the Acauã Wind Complex, exchange ideas with the team and see everything I studied go from theory to practice. It was an incredible experience”.
The initiative is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with emphasis on SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 5 – Gender Equality and SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy.
For Aliança Energia, opening the doors of the Acauã Wind Complex is a way to contribute to the trajectory of each participant and be closer to the communities that are part of its history.
