In commemoration of World Environment Day, celebrated on June 5, and in line with its value of socio-environmental responsibility, Aliança Energia promoted a series of actions in the municipalities that are part of the area of influence of the Funil HPP, in Perdões (MG). Through these initiatives, the company brought environmental education to different audiences, encouraging awareness about the preservation of natural resources and sustainable development.

Check out how the activities carried out throughout the month of June went.

On June 2, an educational activity was held at the Quedas do Rio Bonito Ecological Park, in Lavras, with the participation of 5-year-old children. The program included the planting of native seedlings, providing contact with nature and encouraging environmental awareness from childhood. The action had the partnership of the Municipal Department of Education, the Municipal Department of the Environment of Lavras and the State Institute of Forests (IEF).

On June 3, Praça Dr. Augusto Silva received an action aimed at the general public. The objective was to highlight the importance of World Environment Day and expand the dialogue on the preservation of natural resources, renewable energies and the challenges of the energy transition.

On June 11, a lecture was held at the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA) with the theme “ESG as a strategy in the electricity sector: from compliance to impact”. Aimed at students of environmental courses, the lecture addressed the integration of environmental, social and governance aspects into the practices of the electricity sector, highlighting its contribution to sustainability and to the generation of value to society.

On June 12, an Environmental Education activity was carried out at the Manuel Pereira Ramalho Municipal School, in Ribeirão Vermelho. The initiative involved students in the creation of a vegetable garden, providing practical experience on cultivation, feeding and care for the environment.

According to Flávia Franco, Community Relations analyst at Aliança Energia, initiatives like these contribute to expanding environmental education actions in the municipalities surrounding the Funil HPP.

“When we bring environmental actions closer to the community, we create opportunities for children, young people and adults to understand their role in the conservation of natural resources. Each activity carried out contributes to strengthening environmental awareness and stimulating attitudes that make a difference in the present and in the future.”

The actions developed by Aliança Energia are aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 – Quality Education and 15 – Life on Land.

Through partnerships, practical activities and dialogue with the community, the Funil HPP seeks to contribute to the formation of more conscious citizens and to the construction of an increasingly responsible relationship with the environment.
