Get to know the routine of a hydroelectric plant up close and understand how safety is present in each activity of the operation. This was the experience lived by 20 students of the Technical Course in Health and Safety at the Âncora Technical School, in Ponte Nova (MG), during a visit to the Risoleta Neves HPP, held on July 2.
During the meeting, the Aliança Energia team explained how the risks present in the plant’s activities are identified and how these analyses guide the definition of control and protection measures. The students also learned about the procedures and standards that guide the activities, in line with current legislation and the principles of Occupational Health and Safety.
The team talked to the students about the importance of the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), the application of Collective Protective Equipment (EPCs), training, preliminary risk analysis and compliance with operational procedures.
The tour of the plant included the mechanical gallery, the electrical gallery, the operating room, the loading and unloading area and the crest of the dam. In each space, we share information about the safety precautions related to the activities and about the performance of the professionals who work in the area.
