Aliança Energia celebrates World Water Day with educational actions

World Water Day Cover

On March 22, Aliança Energia celebrated World Water Day, reinforcing its commitment to socio-environmental responsibility and water, an indispensable resource for life and energy generation.

About 50% of South America’s water resources and 11% of the world’s total are in Brazil, which has freshwater reserves. Water is the country’s main source of energy, generated by hydroelectric plants. Therefore, taking care of water resources is important for sustainability and for the next generations. This principle is part of Aliança Energia’s values and guides its initiatives.

Throughout the month, environmental education actions were carried out at the company’s units, highlighting the importance of water for daily life, for economic activities and for the balance of ecosystems. During the visits to the plants, practices that can be adopted by the communities for the conscious use of water were presented, in addition to information taken to the classrooms of nearby municipalities, encouraging students to reflect on the preservation and sustainable use of this resource.
