In April, Aliança Energia began delivering the book “Environmental Education – Together for the Environment” to schools in cities close to its operations. The action is in line with its commitment to socio-environmental responsibility and is carried out in partnership with the local Departments of Education, strengthening the relationship with the communities where it operates.
In all, about 2,000 copies were distributed in units in Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará. Each student received their book free of charge. Since 2022, there have been more than 5,500 copies delivered, bringing content that encourages more conscious and responsible attitudes from an early age.
The material was developed by the Community Relations team and is part of the company’s Environmental Education Program. The proposal is to awaken, even in the first school years, a more careful view of the environment. The book features easy-to-understand texts, as well as illustrations and activities that make learning lighter and more engaging.
Aimed at students in the 4th and 5th grades of Elementary School, the content also serves as support for teachers in the classroom. Throughout the chapters, nine environmental themes are addressed in a practical way, encouraging the participation of students and the realization of actions and campaigns throughout the year, especially on dates related to the theme.
According to Aliança’s Community Relations analyst, Tatiana Siqueira, who is also the author and responsible for the project: “The book “Environmental Education: Together for the Environment” was created with great care and dedication, thinking about every detail to meet the needs of students and support the work of teachers. Each theme and activity has been carefully designed to arouse children’s curiosity and encourage conscious attitudes towards the environment. More than a pedagogical resource, this material reflects our commitment to offering a meaningful learning experience that unites knowledge and sensitivity.”
Aliança Energia’s initiative is also connected to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production, and SDG 13 – Action against Climate Change, reinforcing the company’s commitment to environmental education and awareness.
The expectation of Aliança Energia is that, at the end of this process, each student realizes that they can make a difference and recognize themselves as part of the construction of a more sustainable future.
