Aliança Energia began meetings with the education departments of the municipalities of Santana do Matos, São Vicente, Lagoa Nova and Tenente Laurentino Cruz, with the aim of aligning the participation of schools and communities in the activities of the Five Senses of a Territory Project. Starting in March, the actions will be resumed in partnership with the Seridó Geopark, located in the region of its Acauã Wind Complex, in Rio Grande do Norte.

The project aims to expand environmental education in the municipalities where the geopark is located, covering areas with mountains, plateaus, valleys and rivers, as well as archaeological sites and historical monuments. Its actions are aimed at environmental awareness, community engagement and the preservation of the natural, historical and cultural heritage of the region. The initiative is directly connected to the presence of Aliança in the territory, strengthening the relationship with the communities surrounding the Acauã Wind Complex.

In 2025, the project carried out environmental education activities in the following schools: Nossa Senhora da Conceição, Dom José Delgado, Monsenhor Walfredo Gurgel, São Luiz and João Luís Vitor (Lagoa Nova), Professora Maria Antônia de Lima (Santana do Matos), Silvino Garcia do Amaral (Lieutenant Laurentino Cruz) and Dionísia Batista da Silva and Inácio Félix de Melo (São Vicente). Approximately 180 children and adolescents were served, promoting knowledge, appreciation and conservation of cultural and natural attractions, as well as the geodiversity and biodiversity of these municipalities.

For Janaína Medeiros, president of the Facheiro Institute, Aliança Energia’s partnership in the development of the Five Senses of a Territory Project with schools strengthens environmental awareness through environmental education, helping students to understand the importance of preserving natural resources. “The initiative also encourages the appreciation of local culture, encouraging the recognition and appreciation of the community’s traditions and practices, contributing to forming more aware and engaged citizens, ready to face social and environmental challenges”, he highlights.

Aliança Energia’s actions are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 13 – Action Against Global Climate Change and SDG 15 – Life on Land.

By integrating education, territory and community, the Aliança Energia consolidates its dedication to sustainable development and the formation of more aware and participatory citizens. Aliança Energia continues to work so that knowledge about the territory translates into care, belonging and preservation for the next generations.
