On June 5th, World Environment Day is celebrated. In this context, Aliança Energia participated, last Tuesday (02), in the activity held in Aimorés as part of the Environment Week program. Promoted by the Municipal Department of the Environment, in partnership with other departments, local institutions, the Civil Defense and the Military Environmental Police, the initiative aimed to sensitize the population about the importance of correct disposal of solid waste and environmental preservation.
The actions developed in the campaign, called “From disposal to solution: the correct path of garbage starts at home”, sought to raise awareness in the community about the impacts of improper waste disposal, in addition to encouraging more sustainable practices in everyday life. The program, which culminated in the Environment Week, began on May 15, with a training held for health agents and representatives of the municipality. On May 31, the Environmental Education team of the Aliança Energia Botanical Park carried out educational activities during a cycling tour promoted within the program. In the action, children and adults received guidance on the separation and proper disposal of solid waste generated in homes, reinforcing the importance of the participation of each citizen in the conservation of public spaces and natural resources.

On June 2, the Company’s own and outsourced employees joined the Aimorés Department of the Environment, municipal urban cleaning employees and health agents in a cleaning effort at TVR, popularly known in Aimorés as Beira Cais, contributing to the preservation of public spaces and the direct engagement of the community.
The program also included guidance on the correct disposal of needles and syringes used by people who apply insulin or other injectable medications. As a way of supporting the initiative, PET bottles were distributed for the safe storage of these materials, aiming at the protection of professionals responsible for waste collection and the promotion of public health. The activities ended at the E.E. Frei Afonso Maria Jordá, with a playful dynamic on selective collection.

For Tatiana Menezes Teixeira Siqueira, Community Relations Analyst at Aliança Energia, environmental education actions carried out in partnership with different institutions expand the reach of awareness messages and strengthen the collective commitment to environmental preservation.
“When actions like this happen close to the reality of the community, the impact is much more effective. In Aimorés, this translates into more engagement and concrete results for the conservation of spaces and for the local quality of life”, says Tatiana.
Aliança Energia’s participation reinforces its commitment to the sustainable development of the territories where it operates, through local partnerships and initiatives aimed at environmental education.
