On June 25, Aliança Energia brought together more than 180 women from Serra de Santana, in Lagoa Nova (RN), for the 3rd edition of the Women’s Meeting. Representatives from São Vicente, Santana do Matos, Tenente Laurentino Cruz and Lagoa Nova, municipalities close to the Acauã Wind Complex, participated. The meeting was marked by the exchange of experiences, the encouragement of entrepreneurship and the appreciation of female leadership in the territory.
The program was opened by the Coordinator of Community Relations and Social Innovation of Aliança Energia, Joseane Debortoli. Then, Luciana Balbino conducted the lecture “Social empowerment, creative economy and ecotourism”, with reflections on the challenges and possibilities for women in these segments. Janaina Medeiros was also one of the speakers and shared her trajectory, highlighting the lessons learned throughout her work in the region.
The program included a panel mediated by Joseane Debortoli, with the participation of two women contemplated by the Women of Our Neighborhood program: Paula Maria da Silva Oliveira, from the José Milanês Settlement, and Maria José Soares de Lima, from Sítio Cabugi. The participants reported their experiences in the program and their experiences in their communities.
Those who participated in the meeting highlighted the importance of bringing together women from different communities in a space for approximation, learning and encouragement of female protagonism.
The manager of Social Responsibility and Communication at Aliança Energia, Marcelo Werly, highlighted the satisfaction of following the growth of the initiative and the results built with the communities.
“This meeting has already become a tradition and allows us to see the result of everything we have built together with the communities, territories and projects. The strength of Serra de Santana is in women. We see the commitment of each one to seek improvements for the quality of life, and this meeting is part of that path.”
Joseane Debortoli also spoke about the importance of this space to bring women from different communities together.
“This is the third Meeting of Women of Serra de Santana organized by us. It is a satisfaction because we have the opportunity to strengthen bonds, share experiences and expand the network of women entrepreneurs, women from the countryside. When we support a woman, we also strengthen her family and her community.”
For Maria Francielma Lopes, representative of the group of women entrepreneurs in the countryside, the meeting represented the incentive that many participants were looking for.
“It was a pleasure to participate in this event. It was this incentive that we needed. I can only thank Aliança Energia for this moment. I believe that every woman will take something important with her life.”
Eliana Galvão, a volunteer from the Macambira community, also shared her perception of the meeting.
“This moment is very important because it shows the strength of the union between women and the importance of the training that Aliança Energia brings to the communities. It is an opportunity to learn, grow and enjoy each experience. I thank you for this moment of unity.”
The company’s initiative also contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with emphasis on SDG 5 – Gender Equality and SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth.
Aliança Energia promotes events like this to bring women together, open space for new ideas and facilitate access to knowledge in the communities where it operates.
