On May 28, Aliança Energia carried out an educational action on confronting the abuse and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents at the São Luís Full-Time School, in the rural area of Lagoa Nova, an area of influence of the Acauã Wind Complex (RN). The activity brought together 30 children from Early Childhood Education, focusing on dialogue and awareness about the protection of the rights of children and adolescents.
The initiative is part of Aliança Energia’s Environmental Education Program, which includes actions to prevent violence and child sexual exploitation, in line with the company’s Human Rights Policy. The action also contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4, related to the promotion of inclusive, equitable and quality education.
During the activity, children’s awareness of the “Make it Beautiful” campaign was worked on, in a playful, accessible and age-appropriate way. As part of the program, the game “Semáforo do Toque” was applied, which helped to understand the difference between adequate and inappropriate touches.
Throughout the action, there was a moment of reflection with the students, reinforcing the importance of identifying risk situations, seeking support and communicating trusted people in cases of rights violations.
The Aliança Energia service provider who accompanied the activity, Gerciana Silva, points out:
“As a social worker, I highlight the relevance of this activity for strengthening the full protection of children, promoting information, care and the recognition of their rights. The participation of the students demonstrates that, when the theme is worked with sensitivity and appropriate methodology, it contributes to the prevention of violations. The initiative of Aliança Energia reinforces the role of society in guaranteeing and defending children’s rights.”
