The Aliança Energia Botanical Park, in Aimorés (MG), gained this Thursday (27) a new space dedicated to innovation, experimentation and learning. Aliança Energia inaugurated the Aliança Lab, created to expand environmental education experiences and offer new forms of interaction with knowledge for students, educators and visitors in the Aimorés HPP region.
The inauguration brought together authorities, community leaders and representatives of educational institutions from Aimorés, Baixo Guandu, Resplendor and Itueta. During the events, held on August 26 and 27, the guests got to know the resources of the new space and were able to experience some of the experiences that are now part of the activities of the Botanical Park.
The proposal is for the visitor to stop being just a spectator and start participating in the activities, exploring resources, conducting experiments and following phenomena related to the environment, sustainability and energy generation. The initiative was inspired by models called “Living Labs”, which are spaces for practical learning that stimulate the participation of visitors and the collective construction of knowledge.
Among the features of the new space are interactive experiences, immersive technologies and experimentation tools that support environmental education, science and sustainability activities for students, educators and visitors: Power generation station; Renewable energy game; High Voltage game; 360 flight in virtual reality; Sustainability line; Energy and life panel.
“Aliança Lab represents an advance in the way of working with environmental education, because it allows knowledge to be built also from experience. We want to arouse the curiosity of students and visitors and show that topics such as the environment, sustainability and energy can be understood in a more interactive way and closer to reality”, highlights Marcelo Werly, Social Responsibility and Communication manager at Aliança Energia.
For Joseane Viola, coordinator of Community Relations and Social Innovation at Aliança Energia, the new space expands the connection of the Botanical Park with the population of the region. “More than a new space within the Botanical Park, Aliança Lab represents an opportunity to expand dialogue with the community and create new forms of learning. We want students, educators and visitors from Aimorés and the municipalities in the region to find here an environment that arouses curiosity, stimulates knowledge and brings people closer to topics present in the daily life of the region, such as environmental conservation, natural resources, sustainability and energy production.
For students, the new tools expand learning possibilities by allowing them to monitor environmental data, conduct experiments, and interact with different resources. The proposal is to bring the topics worked on in the classroom closer to practical, interactive, and immersive experiences, stimulating curiosity and understanding about the environment and sustainability.
With Aliança Lab, the Botanical Park expands its contribution to the training of students, educators and visitors, offering new opportunities for learning about the environment, sustainability and energy. “Having this space here is very important, favoring the school, valuing our community and further strengthening the partnership and interaction of years we have had with the Botanical Park. We are amazed with Aliança Lab, a magnificent and pedagogically perfect place, because it passes knowledge to students in an innovative and creative way, holding their attention”, concludes Soraya Moura dos Santos, teacher at E.M. Santo Antônio do Norte, in Aimorés, who accompanied the 3rd year students on the inaugural visit to Aliança Lab.
The novelty adds to the trajectory of the Aliança Energia Botanical Park, which completes 17 years in 2026 and brings together 186 reforested hectares. Since its inauguration, the space has received more than 128 thousand visitors and develops free environmental education activities for students, teachers and community members, with trails, workshops and other educational experiences.
