On April 15, the National Soil Conservation Day is celebrated. Aliança Energia recognizes the importance of the sustainable use of this resource and reinforces its commitment to the value of socio-environmental responsibility, promoting reflection on how the soil is used on a daily basis and why it deserves attention and care.
Soil is present in various activities of daily life, being fundamental for growing food, the water cycle, regulating the climate, and maintaining biodiversity. However, this resource has been impacted by actions such as inadequate land use, pollution, urban expansion, and climate change, which leads to its degradation through processes such as erosion, loss of organic matter and biodiversity, compaction, waterproofing, contamination, and salinization. As many of these causes are related to human action, they can also be prevented.
Through Aliança Energia’s Environmental Education Program, throughout the month of April, actions are carried out in the company’s projects with the objective of expanding the dialogue on the subject and encouraging more conscious choices in soil care. In Minas Gerais, visitors are received at the Aimorés and Funil plants. In the other units, such as Sol do Cerrado and Risoleta Neves (MG), in the Acauã Wind Complex (RN) and in the CESI Wind Complex and in the Gravier Wind Power Plant (CE), visits to schools are promoted, bringing knowledge and strengthening awareness about the importance of soil preservation.

The initiatives are also aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 – Quality Education, by promoting access to information and environmental awareness as a means for a more sustainable society.
Aliança Energia believes that small attitudes in the present make all the difference in preserving this resource for the future.
