On April 1st, another DDS (Daily Safety Dialogue) was held at the Santo Inácio Wind Complex (CESI) and at the Gravier Wind Power Plant, in reference to World Water Day, celebrated on March 22nd. The event took place in person, bringing together its own employees and third parties, demonstrating that social and environmental responsibility is one of the main values of Aliança Energia.
On the occasion, guest Elismar Santos, Public Policy Assistant at AQUASIS (Association for Research and Preservation of Aquatic Ecosystems), based in Icapuí/CE, participated in the event. The institution develops projects aimed at preserving life and ecosystems in the state, such as the Marine Mammal Program (PMM), which studies species such as the manatee and the dolphin, both threatened with extinction and with high mortality rates in Ceará. The Migratory Birds Program (PAM) was also presented, which carries out applied research, environmental education and engagement in public policies aimed at the conservation of migratory birds and residents along the Western Atlantic Migratory Route.
During the meeting, Elismar highlighted the problem of water at the local level, considering that most of the collaborators are from the region. He explained, in detail, the cycle of water for consumption in the habitable areas around the wind farms and the city of Icapuí. He also warned about the impacts of inappropriate interference by people, such as the construction of homemade cesspools without technical guidance, which can pollute the water table and directly affect the health of the population.
At the end, gifts were distributed to the participants, reinforcing the importance of moments like this.
The employees left the meeting even more aware that each attitude makes a difference in the preservation of water resources and in the care of the environment, maintaining Aliança Energia’s commitment to actions that expand socio-environmental responsibility and contribute to a more sustainable future.
