On July 30, Aliança Energia, in partnership with WEG, carried out an emergency drill for chemical spills, bringing together employees who work at the Santo Inácio Wind Complex (CESI) substation, in Ceará. The initiative was part of the integrated actions of prevention and response to emergencies, focusing on the safety of people, the protection of the environment and the preservation of the facilities.
The objective of the initiative was to train and raise awareness among teams about the correct procedures to be adopted in the face of an occurrence involving chemical substances, contributing to a fast, safe and coordinated action.
During the drill, different stages of emergency response were put into practice, from identifying the scenario and communicating the occurrence to isolating the area, properly using personal protective equipment (PPE), and containing the spilled product.
The activity provided a moment of practical learning among the teams, promoting integration between the companies that operate in the complex and allowing everyone to exercise, in a safe and controlled way, the procedures provided for a real situation.
The experience was also accompanied by the Health and Safety service provider and technician, Erivaldo Silva, who highlighted how this type of initiative contributes to the preparation and integration of teams:
“Participating in a drill like this is an opportunity for us to evaluate, in practice, the level of preparation of the teams and the integration between all those involved. These exercises allow us to identify points for improvement, reinforce procedures and, above all, ensure that we are increasingly prepared to respond to a real situation in a fast, safe and organized way.”
In addition to assessing the readiness of the teams, the drill made it possible to verify the effectiveness of the established procedures and identify opportunities for improvement in emergency response plans.
Aliança Energia initiative contributes to a culture of prevention, preparedness and care, recognizing that being prepared for an emergency is also a way to protect people, the environment and the business.
