On August 26, Aliança Energia carried out the educational action “The visit of the colored collectors” with about 65 children from the Paulo Herôncio de Melo Municipal School, in the community of Buraco de Lagoa, next to the Acauã Wind Complex (RN). The initiative showed that learning about caring for the environment can be a fun experience, bringing together music, games and lots of interaction.
During the program, the students learned about the importance of selective collection and the correct disposal of waste. In a light and playful way, the action showed that every attitude counts when it comes to environmental preservation and that children can also be part of this transformation, becoming true Guardians of Nature.
Music entered the game and helped to reinforce learning. To the sound of “Throw the garbage in the basket, each one has its own color”, the students got to know the colors of the collectors and understood what types of waste should be destined for each one of them. Then, they put the knowledge into practice in a dynamic of separation and disposal of materials, transforming the content learned into a fun experience.
And learning was not restricted to the day of the action. To help the school maintain these practices in the routine, selective collectors were donated. With the new equipment, students will be able to continue exercising the correct separation of waste and take this habit to their families and to the entire school community.
The involvement of the children was also noticed by the school team. For Eliane Oliveira, manager of the Monsenhor Paulo Herôncio de Melo Municipal School, the activity managed to bring an important topic closer to the students’ reality in a light and meaningful way.
“It was fantastic to follow the activity with great security, sensitivity and creativity, providing children with moments of interaction, discovery and learning. Actions like this awaken awareness and commitment to caring for our planet. I therefore want to thank Aliança Energia for this expressive, educational and valuable moment for our school community.”
The initiative also contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production.
Environmental education gains even more strength when learning becomes a habit. With actions like this, Aliança Energia strengthens a culture of environmental responsibility and shows that building a more sustainable future also begins within the school.
