Guided by the principles of “life first” and “protagonism to make it happen”, Aliança Energia held, on Tuesday (24), the 7th Health and Safety Seminar. The event took place in Jaíba-MG, where our Sol do Cerrado Solar Plant is located, with live transmission on the Teams platform for own employees and fixed third parties.
In all, more than 100 participants followed the event online and about 80 were present, consolidating the seminar as one of the main moments of strategic alignment of the company in the area of Health and Safety.

Throughout the presentations, one point gained special prominence: Aliança Energia’s historic result in zero lost-time accidents, a milestone consolidated over the last seven years of continuous evolution in Health and Safety. Some plants have already accumulated almost two decades without accidents, an extraordinary feat in the electricity sector and which positions the company in a select group of energy companies recognized for their operational maturity and robust accident prevention culture. As reinforced by the Health and Safety coordinator, Flávio Vieira, this performance is the result of discipline, daily commitment and the protagonism of teams that “wear the safety shirt” — a source of pride for the entire organization.
Opening up and strengthening the culture of prevention
The opening was attended by the company’s board of directors. Paulo Cruz, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, warned of the risks inherent in the activities of the electricity sector and stressed that good historical results do not guarantee future security. “If we spend 2025 in such a positive way, from a statistical point of view we are closer to an occurrence. We need to act every day as if it were the first day of operation,” he said.

The director of Operations and Engineering, Carlos Pavanelli, reinforced the view that safety should not be treated as a numerical indicator. “May our daily posture be as if the statistics were not in our favor. Security is not a number. It’s life. We need to work with humility, attention and responsibility so that everyone returns home safely,” he declared.
Launch of the new Golden Rule
Among the highlights of the seminar was the launch of Golden Rule No. 7, dedicated to prevention and control related to alcohol and drug use. The initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to safe and responsible work environments.
Evolution of security practices
Flávio Vieira, Aliança Health and Safety coordinator, presented a retrospective of the main advances since 2019 and highlighted the risks that most demand attention: accidents with venomous animals, cuts on hands and fingers, projection of foreign bodies and overturning of vehicles.

Flávio also presented a retrospective of the evolution of security practices in the company since 2019. That year, operational blockades were implemented aimed at the physical integrity of the teams. In 2020, the company faced a major challenge: there was a deficit of almost 1,500 operating procedures. With the involvement of the technical teams of the plants, more than 1,500 procedures were prepared, in addition to the creation of a structured review and recycling process. Currently, many documents are already in the 10th or 15th revision, demonstrating continuous improvement.
In 2021, the Inter Usinas Cup was created, an initiative aimed at strengthening risk perception. Until then, about 400 risks were identified per year, a number considered low given the operational reality. The proposal began to prioritize not only the number of records, but the development of security awareness in the teams. In 2022, a safety diagnosis was implemented. The consolidated transformations in 2023 and 2024 demonstrated significant evolution in indicators and organizational maturity. Now, according to the coordinator, the challenge is to continue to accurately and consciously map the risk records and advance in strengthening safe behavior.
Technical and behavioral programming
The seminar featured lectures that integrated technical and behavioral aspects. Psychologist Odilon Cunha gave the lecture on behavior, highlighting protagonism and care in daily attitudes. Occupational physician Dr. Gustavo Nicolau addressed NR 1 and the psychosocial environment, in addition to addressing the topic of absenteeism.
“Today the company needs to be aware of the psychosocial environment of work and how it, with its operating model, can lead to mental illness in this case psychosocial. Today’s idea was to highlight the treatment of risk factors and act where there may be an imbalance in these pillars. With this, the gains are indirect, in the reduction of absenteeism, in the climate of the work environment, in the production of these workers”, Dr. Gustavo Nicolai – Occupational physician.

Consultant Moacir Morais presented the lecture “Incident Energy / Arc Flash”, bringing guidance on electrical risks. “At the seminar, the technical point that drew the most attention was the discussion and presentation about the electric arc, I think this review is important and brings security to a great lack of knowledge that we have. In Sol do Cerrado we have some points of great tension. And we studied a lot. And this new vision will help in some solutions for us”, said Eduardo Bueno – Operation and Maintenance Supervisor in Sol do Cerrado.
There was also the presentation of the rules of the 2026 World Cup, conducted by Glaydston Louzada.
Recognitions and awards
During the event, all Aliança mills received a trophy in recognition of the milestone of zero lost-time accidents in the year 2025, reinforcing the collective commitment to safety.

The Inter Usinas Cup also rewarded its highlights. Third place went to the Risoleta Neves HPP, second place to the Aimorés HPP and first place to the Santo Inácio Wind Complex (CESI), which also won the title of best defense. The trainer was Antônio Victor, Operations Manager of Aliança’s wind assets.

“The main learning for me was to understand that care starts with me. When I take responsibility for my life and practice self-care, I strengthen my ability to take care of others with awareness and coherence, as well as allowing myself to be guided and led when necessary. In this way, I experience in practice our value of putting life first, understanding that safety is an individual responsibility that sustains and strengthens the collective”, Shirley Almeida Lopes – Administrative Assistant at Risoleta Neves.
The 7th Health and Safety Seminar reaffirmed that, for Aliança Energia, safety goes beyond goals and indicators: it is about preserving lives, strengthening behaviors and ensuring that each employee returns home safely at the end of each day.
