On February 25, the renewal of the Operating License (LO) of the Risoleta Neves HPP was approved by the State Council for Environmental Policy (Copam). With this renewal, authorization is guaranteed for the continuity of operations, confirming that the project complies with all legal requirements and environmental standards established by the regulatory agency.
The process began at the end of 2024 and went through several stages, including the presentation of technical studies, the assessment of compliance with environmental conditions and programs, the inspection of the project and meetings with the environmental agency’s technical team.
The Risoleta Neves HPP reached 95 points out of a possible 100 in the Environmental Performance Index in Licensing (IDAL), an indicator used by the State Department of the Environment to evaluate the environmental performance of the projects. The new license will be valid for 10 years.
To highlight the importance of this achievement in the teams’ daily lives, Aliança’s Environment analyst, Débora Silva, points out: “the Renewed License is another milestone that fills us with pride. The dedicated work of all teams, from the actions to enable the refilling of the reservoir and operational resumption in 2023, to the approval of the license, shows the commitment to excellence and socio-environmental responsibility. This achievement is not only a technical result, but also a reflection of the resilience and collaboration of all involved.”
This result reflects the commitment of Aliança’s teams to the value of Social and Environmental Responsibility and to excellence in the environmental management of their projects.
