On National Human Rights Day, celebrated on August 12, Aliança Energia held the 2nd edition of the Human Rights Seminar, bringing together employees, leaders and specialists at the Hotel Transamerica Lourdes, in Belo Horizonte. With the theme “Human Rights in Motion: culture, responsibility and real impact”, the meeting promoted debates on diversity, inclusion, risk management, sustainability and governance, through lectures and panels conducted by national references in compliance, ESG, human rights, community relations and organizational management.
On a symbolic date for the promotion of citizenship, dignity and respect for people, the event reinforced the importance of transforming principles into concrete practices that are part of the daily life of organizations, influencing labor relations, management processes, strategic decisions and the relationship with communities and other stakeholders.
The opening was attended by the board of directors of Aliança Energia, which highlighted the relevance of the theme for strengthening an organizational culture based on respect, ethics, inclusion and social responsibility.
The keynote lecture was conducted by Cátia Veloso, partner at MariaQuitéria Consultoria, lawyer and specialist in compliance, ESG and corporate governance. The guest addressed the theme “How culture, leadership and emotional health define performance in a context of technological acceleration”, bringing reflections on the challenges of contemporary management and the importance of balancing results, well-being and human development in increasingly dynamic organizational environments.
Among the highlights of the program was the panel “Culture is built in relationships: Diversity and Inclusion”, with Francielle Pedrosa, executive at VLI, and Cristiana Carnevalli, psychologist and specialist in diversity and organizational management. The discussion highlighted the role of companies in valuing differences and building more welcoming, respectful, and inclusive work environments.
In the afternoon, the panel “Risk Management and Due Diligence in Human Rights: strengthening responsible and sustainable action” brought together Ana Cláudia Cardia, executive director of Coerentia Sustainable Solutions, and Camila Manfredini de Abreu, consultant in human rights and corporate sustainability. Mediated by Aliança Energia’s Social Responsibility and Communication manager, Marcelo Werly, the debate addressed the importance of identifying, preventing and mitigating impacts, in addition to the integration of human rights into management and corporate governance processes.
Next, the lecture “SDGs in practice: when commitment becomes action” was conducted by Bruna Ribeiro, public relations and specialist in corporate sustainability. The speaker shared experiences and initiatives that demonstrate how institutional commitments can be transformed into concrete actions capable of generating value for businesses, people, and the territories where organizations operate.
Closing the thematic program, the panel “Major operations, major responsibilities” had the participation of Priscila Pimenta, specialist in Human Rights and Business, and Luana Pataro, Community Relations analyst at Vale. The guests shared experiences related to the challenges of reconciling operational performance, sustainability, governance and relationships with different stakeholders, reinforcing the need for an increasingly transparent, responsible performance in line with society’s expectations.
Throughout the day, participants also had the opportunity to interact with the speakers, share experiences and deepen reflections on topics such as active listening, diversity, integrity, psychological safety, sustainability and the future of work.
For Joseane Viola Coelho Debortoli, coordinator of Community Relations and Social Innovation at Aliança Energia, holding the seminar on the date on which the National Human Rights Day is celebrated brought even more meaning to the initiative.

Frederick Teixeira Nunes, Risk and Compliance manager at Aliança Energia, highlighted the importance of integrating the topic into management practices.

The closing brought together directors and managers of the company, who thanked the participation of the speakers and the public. The high engagement of the participants and the quality of the discussions marked the success of the second edition of the seminar, consolidating the initiative as an important space for learning and reflection.
As a legacy of the meeting, the seminar reinforced Aliança Energia’s contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 10 (Reduction of Inequalities), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions) and SDG 17 (Partnerships and Means of Implementation).
