In early 2026, Aliança Energia launched the Campaign to Combat Illegal Hunting at the Santo Inácio Wind Complex (CESI) and the Gravier Wind Power Plant, in the municipality of Icapuí (CE). The initiative was structured in partnership with the commander of the Military Police of the State of Ceará, Lieutenant Henrique Klelber, of the Icapuí Battalion, with the objective of preventing hunting without authorization through integrated actions of guidance, inspection and communication.
Since February, periodic inspections have been carried out in the areas of the enterprises, in partnership with the Military Police, and the campaign will continue throughout the year. The focus is to curb illegal hunting and protect, in particular, endangered species and animals often targeted by hunters, contributing to the preservation of the region’s biodiversity.
Illegal hunting represents a direct threat to ecosystems, since it involves the capture, persecution or slaughter of wild animals without authorization from the competent agencies or in violation of environmental legislation. This impact is even more critical when it involves species at risk of extinction, whose already reduced populations may disappear from nature without protection actions.
As part of the campaign, warning signs were installed at strategic points of CESI and the Gravier Wind Power Plant, in addition to acting in conjunction with environmental agencies responsible for inspection. In the community meetings, topics related to the impacts of illegal hunting and the importance of wildlife conservation are also included in the agendas.
Aliança Energia believes that, through integrated action with the government and continuous dialogue with communities, it is possible to expand the protection of biodiversity and strengthen a more balanced coexistence between human activities and the environment in the territories where it is present.
