On September 21, the month of the Tree is celebrated, a period that recalls the relationship between environmental conservation, biodiversity and quality of life. By recognizing the role of vegetation in the protection of soils and water resources, air quality and the maintenance of ecosystems, Aliança Energia reinforces the importance of transforming awareness into permanent attitudes.

At the company’s units, the theme is taken to different territories through initiatives that involve employees, communities and partners in environmental education actions, recovery of areas and conservation of biodiversity. The experiences show how caring for natural resources can be part of daily life and contribute to environmental conservation and the well-being of communities.

Aimorés HPP | MG

At the Aimorés HPP, the Arbor Day program received, on September 17, at the Aliança Energia Botanical Park, residents of the district of Santo Antônio do Rio Doce, in Aimorés, for a program of environmental education and contact with nature.

During the visit, a white fig tree was planted and different spaces in the Park were presented. On the bird trail, participants got to know native species and observed birds, while talking about the role of these animals in seed dispersal and vegetation regeneration.

For Cristina dos Santos Kampine, president of the Association of Residents and Rural Producers of the District of Santo Antônio do Rio Doce, the experience provided new learning about the relationship between people and the environment.

“It was an excellent opportunity to have contact with nature and learn a little more about the process of generating renewable energy. The experience in the Park was unique. We were able to get to know what the space offers, plant trees and contribute, in some way, to the planet. It is very important to understand that nature is paramount and that we need to preserve and take care of it. The Park teaches us to look more closely at our planet, at the trees, at nature and at the animals. It was a very good experience.”

UFV Sol do Cerrado | MG

At UFV Sol do Cerrado, employees participated in a symbolic planting in the area of the Altered Areas Recovery Project (PTRF).

In all, 15 seedlings of native species were planted, representing part of the plant recomposition work planned for the site. The project includes the planting of approximately 120 thousand seedlings, which will contribute to the recovery of native vegetation.

During the meeting, information was shared about the stages of the PTRF and the role of plant recomposition in the recovery of the area. The initiative brought together professionals around a common goal: to contribute to environmental recovery and to the construction of a positive legacy for the next generations.

Samuel Turco, service provider and Environmental Technician, participated in the activity and highlighted the significance of the meeting:

“More than planting trees, this moment represents the union of people around a purpose: to contribute to environmental recovery and leave a positive legacy for the next generations.”

Acauã Wind Complex | RN

In Acauã, Arbor Day was associated with education and culture. With the theme “Where there is a tree, there is life. Where there are books, there is knowledge”, Aliança Energia participated, on September 23, in the inauguration of the Raízes do Saber Community Library, at the Nossa Senhora da Conceição Municipal School, in Buraco de Lagoa, Lagoa Nova.

About 125 students and educators participated in the program, which brought together environmental preservation, reading and community development. The library was born as a space for learning, coexistence and encouragement of the formation of readers, benefiting the school and the surrounding community.

During the program, an Environmental Education activity was carried out that related the growth of trees to the construction of knowledge. Gerciana Silva, Aliança Energia’s service provider in the Community Relations area, highlighted this connection:

“Just as the tree offers shade, fruit and life, this library is born to offer knowledge, stories and new possibilities.”

Popular culture was part of the program with the participation of student Nayra Nicolly, finalist of the 2025 Cordel Contest, and student Halyson Gabriel Silva, who presented cordels prepared for the occasion.

Another highlight was the “Tree of Wishes” dynamic. The students answered the question “What do I want this library to grow?” and recorded their messages on paper leaves and flowers, which were hung on the branches of a tree built on a mural.

Subsequently, the official inauguration of the Raízes do Saber Community Library was held, with the symbolic opening of the book house. The new space now serves the school and the community, strengthening access to reading, culture and knowledge.

Funil HPP | MG

In Funil, an educational activity with students from a public school in Lavras showed how trees are present in different aspects of life and highlighted the need to conserve natural resources.

Divided into teams, the students participated in an interactive dynamic in which they related different images to the trees. From the activity, they identified benefits such as the offer of food, medicines, shade and shelter for animals, in addition to the use of raw materials and the contribution to air and water quality.

The proposal aroused the curiosity of the class and revealed relationships that many students had not yet noticed. In a light and participatory way, the experience brought students closer to the theme and showed that taking care of trees means preserving resources present in everyday life.

Risoleta Neves HPP | MG

At the Risoleta Neves HPP, the Arbor Day program was held at the Municipal Center for Early Childhood Education Professor Lucília Lobo Pereira Martins (CMEI), in Rio Doce, and brought together about 25 children from the 1st and 2nd periods, aged between 4 and 6 years.

The activity included the storytelling of the characters “Aurita and her Friends in the Forest”, developed by the company Cidadão da Mata. In a playful and interactive way, the action addressed the importance of trees, care for the environment and the different stages of a tree’s life cycle, from seed to plant development to adulthood.

The yellow trumpet was the species chosen as a reference for the activity, highlighting its importance for biodiversity and its representativeness in the Brazilian flora. The initiative brought children closer to the theme of environmental conservation in an educational and age-appropriate way, stimulating, from an early age, care and respect for nature.

The initiatives are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with emphasis on SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 13 – Action Against Global Climate Change and SDG 15 – Life on Land.

For Aliança Energia, celebrating Arbor Day means recognizing that the future begins with the choices made today. Planting, caring for and preserving are part of a shared responsibility for the conservation of the environment.
