At the last Team Coffee, on March 11, Aliança Energia launched the Integrity Ambassadors Program, created through a partnership between the Compliance area and the Culture Project. The objective was to establish a group of employees trained to act as multipliers of ethics in tAliança Energia’s Operational Units and Consortia, supporting the promotion of the value “Integrity is non-negotiable”.
“We know that integrity is strengthened when it is present in the day-to-day of our operations. Therefore, the creation of the Integrity Ambassadors Program has a fundamental role: to expand the dialogue, guidance and dissemination of the guidelines of our Integrity Program”, Paulo Cruz – Financial and Administrative Director of Aliança.
With this initiative, focal points were established to strengthen the connection between the Compliance area and the day-to-day operations of the Operational Units. The program is expected to: reinforce the local dissemination of Aliança Energia’s integrity guidelines; promote the company’s culture of integrity within the Operational Units through the creation of new rituals and symbols; increase employee engagement in the actions carried out by the Compliance team; and encourage responsible reporting through Aliança Energia’s Ethics and Ombudsman Channel.

Subsequently, the first steps were taken for the training of the Ambassadors, who participated in person in the training event held on 03/11 and 12, at the company’s Headquarters, in Belo Horizonte. On the first day, Aliança Energia’s Integrity Program was presented, emphasizing its main regulations and processes, and reinforcing the role and limits of action of the Ambassadors, clarifying the main doubts presented. On the second day, there was a lecture by the consultant and Compliance specialist, Cris Amaral, who reinforced the responsibility and importance of being an Integrity Ambassador in the Company, arguing that organizational culture is a system of shared meanings that guides behaviors, connecting the importance of example and daily practice to consolidate an ethical culture. “Ambassadors are the energy of integrity, making real culture appear when each one acts by reinforcing values, guiding people, welcoming with empathy and proposing improvements,” said Cris in his presentation.

According to Aliança Energia’s Risk and Compliance Consultant, Renata Guimarães Rocha, the presence and engagement of all Ambassadors in the launch of the Program and in the initial training were very important to achieve a positive result with the initiative. “In addition to having been a pleasure to receive them, the exchange of ideas, experiences and perspectives during the meeting was extremely valuable and will contribute to the success of the Program”, comments Renata.
The ambassadors also showed satisfaction in representing Aliança Energia in their units, as reinforced by the Administrative Analyst at the Risoleta Neves HPP, Acássia Alves Nogueira: “I want to thank you immensely for the invitation and for all the affection and care given to this program, as important for us, as professionals, as for Aliança Energia. You were impeccable in every detail. I’m looking forward to the next steps.”
At the end of the training, opportunities for the Ambassadors to work in the projects were identified, giving rise to an action plan that will be executed locally. In the Integrity Ambassadors Program, the nominated volunteers will work in their units over two years. Quarterly meetings are planned to align the support activities expected for the period, report on the actions carried out and perceptions obtained.
