On June 30, Aliança Energia, in partnership with the Military Police and Civil Defense, carried out an educational blitz in Ribeirão Vermelho, a municipality neighboring the Funil HPP. The initiative aimed to share information about the Emergency Action Plan (PAE) and reinforce safety measures related to the dam.
The PAE brings together the guidelines and procedures that must be followed by the population and the competent bodies in an eventual emergency. The plan includes the communities neighboring the plant and presents information on the alert systems, communication channels and actions planned in emergencies.
During the action, informative folders were distributed, community doubts were clarified and the importance of everyone knowing the protocols provided for in the plan was reinforced. Guidelines were also presented on the operation of the alert system, the purpose of the sirens and the attitudes that should be adopted in case of activation.
The team also shared information about the safety conditions of the dam, the monitoring carried out by the plant, the PROX application, which brings together alerts and communication channels, and the role of Civil Defense in emergency prevention and response actions.
According to Flávia Santos, Community Relations analyst at Aliança Energia, who participated in the action, the initiative contributed to bringing the community closer to the safety actions developed by the plant.
“Contact with the population allows us to share information, listen to doubts and provide guidance on the procedures provided for in the PAE. By bringing knowledge clearly, we contribute to people knowing the protocols and knowing how to act in an eventual emergency.”
Through actions like this, Aliança Energia maintains dialogue with the population and contributes to the communities being aware of the safety procedures and communication channels available for use in an eventual emergency.
