With the theme “More Future, Less Carbon”, Aliança Energia promoted, in June, an environmental education program at the Acauã Wind Complex (RN). The initiatives were part of the celebrations of World Environment Day, celebrated on the 5th, and involved students, educators, employees and residents of the surrounding communities.
The program addressed topics such as environmental preservation, circular economy, waste management and conscious consumption, stimulating reflections and discussions on sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Check out the activities carried out
09/06 | Technical visit to the Acauã Wind Complex
Students from the Nossa Senhora da Conceição Municipal School, in Lagoa Nova, participated in a technical visit and environmental education action. During the activity, waste collectors were delivered, guidelines were presented on the separation and proper disposal of materials and a dynamic of recognition of local biodiversity was carried out.

10 to 12/06 | Programming for employees
At the Complex’s substation, employees followed lectures and actions conducted by Aliança Energia’s Environmental analyst, Andreza Bezerra.
On June 10, the program began with the lecture “Less Carbon, More Future!”, which addressed sustainability and reduction of carbon emissions.

On June 11, the lecture “Circular Economy for Life to Improve” was held, focusing on the reuse of resources, conscious consumption and circular economy.

Closing the program, on June 12, the “Adopt a Tree” action brought together employees to plant seedlings, followed by a moment of integration among the participants.

11/06 | Visit to the recycling cooperative
Also on June 11, students from the Maria Antônia de Lima Municipal School, located in the Acauã Settlement, participated in a technical visit to the recycling cooperative of Lagoa Nova. The students learned about the recycling process, the reuse of waste, the principles of the circular economy and the contribution of these practices to income generation.

13/06 | Lecture for teenagers
Adolescents from the Acauã Settlement participated in the lecture “Circular Economy for Life to Improve”, encouraging awareness about sustainability and environmental responsibility.

22/06 | Closing of the program
At the São Luiz Full-Time School, of the Quilombola Community of Macambira, in Lagoa Nova, an environmental education activity was carried out with the students. The program included a conversation about solid waste and the delivery of collectors to support the separation and proper disposal of waste in the school and family environment.

Andreza Bezerra, responsible for conducting the lectures and activities with employees, highlights:
“It was a very opportune moment to talk to employees about topics that are so relevant today. In planning the actions, we were very careful to align our activities with the central theme of World Environment Day, which for the year 2026 was Climate Change, as recommended by the UN. We prioritized dynamic activities, in which the participants interacted a lot, and understood how small daily actions and individual behavior changes can contribute to sustainable development and decarbonization”.
Aliança Energia’s service provider, Gerciana Silva, who followed the actions developed with educational institutions and communities, points out:
“The activities carried out during the Environment Week were fundamental to awaken the environmental awareness of children and adolescents. The visit to the Wind Complex provided learning about the generation of clean and sustainable energy, while the visit to the recycling cooperative allowed us to learn, in practice, about the value of recycling and the work of the families involved in this process. Carrying out the activity on waste separation with children from kindergarten was a very special experience, contributing, from an early age, to environmental preservation. Investing in environmental education is contributing to the formation of citizens who are more aware and committed to a more sustainable future”.
The actions are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with emphasis on SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 13 – Action Against Global Climate Change.

With this program, Aliança Energia expanded environmental education actions with the communities surrounding the Acauã Wind Complex, encouraging schools, employees and residents to adopt sustainability practices and proper waste management.
