This Friday, June 12, the World Day to Combat Child Labor is celebrated, a date that invites reflection on awareness and confrontation of this practice around the world.
In this context, Aliança Energia’s Human Rights Policy is applied in all of the company’s routines and actions. The booklet serves as a guideline, conducting the action based on corporate governance guidelines and principles that guarantee respect for human rights in all relationships and territories where the company is present.
To expand this commitment, the policy is extended to its wholly-owned subsidiaries and suppliers, who are encouraged to know and adopt practices in line with the established principles.
Among them are respect for human rights in all locations where it operates, the non-acceptance of any form of discrimination or violation, the prohibition of child labor and labor relations associated with forced, slave-like or degrading labor. Teams are guided to act in accordance with these principles, which are part of the value of non-negotiable integrity.
This posture is also reflected in the alignment of Aliança Energia reinforces human rights principles on World Day Against Child Labor with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with emphasis on SDG 4 – Quality Education, by reinforcing the importance of education as an instrument for the protection and development of children and adolescents.
In this way, the company’s commitment to the defense of human dignity and the prevention of child labor is strengthened, understanding education as an element for the construction of a more just, ethical and egalitarian society.
