On April 6, the Alliance brought together producers and cattle breeders from the region of the Acauã Wind Complex, in Rio Grande do Norte, for the lecture “Milk Quality in Focus”, held at the Inácio Félix de Melo School, in the municipality of São Vicente (RN). The action is part of the Cattle Farming project, developed by Aliança Energia, in partnership with Sebrae and Seridó PEC.
The objective of the initiative is to support producers in the productivity and quality of dairy herds, through the offer of specialized technical assistance, continuous monitoring and access to reproductive biotechnologies, which directly contribute to the development of the activity in the region. The meeting was structured based on the demands identified during the monthly consultancies carried out on the properties served by the project.
During the lecture, conducted by Professor Adriano Rangel, coordinator of the Milk Quality Laboratory (LABOLEITE/UFRN), practices for improving milk quality were discussed, from hygiene care in milking to the nutritional management of the herd, always focusing on valuing the product and increasing the profitability of the properties.
Adriano pointed out that investing in milk quality goes beyond meeting market requirements, ensuring more profit for the producer and more safety for the consumer. He also reinforced the importance of correct cleaning of equipment and disinfection during milking, important measures to reduce bacterial contamination and prevent diseases in the herd.

For Jailson José, Sebrae’s veterinarian and responsible for the technical monitoring of the project, the lecture played an important role in raising producers’ awareness about the impacts of inadequate management.
“This lecture came precisely to draw the attention of producers and show the damage caused when good milking management is not done. This further strengthens the actions that we are already developing within the project“, he highlighted.
According to him, the milk analyzes carried out on the properties are also important tools to identify bottlenecks related to health, productivity and farm management.
“The analyses help a lot in our technical work, because they show where the problems are in each property,” he explained.
The Energy Alliance initiative is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with emphasis on SDG 2 – Zero Hunger and Sustainable Agriculture, SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 17 – Partnerships and Means of Implementation.

With actions like this, Aliança Energia seeks to strengthen the development of the local dairy chain, encourage good practices in the field and contribute to producers expanding their knowledge, in addition to increasing the productivity and quality of their activities.
