On July 13, the Statute of the Child and Adolescent (ECA), created by Law No. 8,069/1990, is celebrated. The ECA is one of the main standards for the protection of children and adolescents in Brazil. It recognizes children and adolescents as people who have rights and defines responsibilities to ensure access to health, education, family and community life, culture, leisure, as well as protection against violence, negligence, exploitation and discrimination.
Aliança Energia recognizes that guaranteeing these rights is everyone’s responsibility: families, society, public authorities and organizations. Therefore, it develops initiatives in the communities where it operates, supporting education, culture, sports, inclusion and social development actions. This work takes place through its own projects and partnerships with the Municipal Councils for the Rights of Children and Adolescents and other local organizations.
Aliança Energia’s performance takes into account the characteristics and needs of each community where it operates, in Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Norte, Ceará and Bahia. With its programs and projects, the company seeks to be increasingly closer to communities, encourage people’s participation and contribute to children and adolescents having more opportunities to learn, develop and build their future.
The initiatives and partnerships are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, with emphasis on SDG 3 – Health and Well-Being, SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 16 – Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions.
On this ECA Day, Aliança Energia continues to work to contribute to safe and inclusive environments, where children and adolescents have their rights respected and can develop their capacities.
