Aliança Energia continues to advance in actions that promote responsible management of waste generated in its operations and generate benefits for the communities where it operates. On July 16, through UFV Sol do Cerrado, in Jaíba (MG), the company signed a partnership with ASCAJAI (Association of Recyclable Material Collectors of Jaíba) for the disposal of recyclable materials generated by the project.
The initiative is scheduled to start in August. From this period on, Aliança Energia will forward recyclable waste to the association that can be reused, encouraging selective collection, reducing environmental impacts and valuing the work developed by the municipality’s waste pickers.
The partnership also represents an opportunity to generate income for members and strengthens the performance of ASCAJAI, which carries out activities of collection, sorting and marketing of recyclable materials in the region. Currently, the entity has about 15 members and participates in the construction of a more structured recycling chain in Jaíba.
According to Patrícia Mara Pereira, Environmental Analyst at Aliança Energia, the partnership demonstrates how environmental actions can contribute to the development of the community.
“We believe that sustainable development happens when our environmental actions also generate benefits for people. By sending our recyclable waste to ASCAJAI, we support an important initiative for the municipality, contribute to income generation and advance in the responsible management of resources.”
The initiative is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially those related to responsible consumption and production (SDG 12), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8) and the reduction of inequalities (SDG 10).
With this partnership, Aliança Energia continues to improve its waste management practices and encourage the circular economy, encouraging the reuse of materials and supporting actions that generate environmental and social benefits for the region.
